Assess caravan water damage
Water damage to a caravan can arise for various reasons. Think of a leaking roof hatch, old sealant joints, damaged seals around windows, damage to the roof or wall, loose trim strips or condensation due to insufficient ventilation. Sometimes the cause is immediately visible, but water can also remain behind panelling or in the floor structure for a long time before you see clear damage.
That is why it is important to assess water damage not only at the visible spot. A brown edge, soft patch, musty smell, discolouration or a bulge in the wall or floor may indicate moisture that has spread further. Even a small trace near a window or roof hatch can be linked to damage elsewhere in the caravan.
